President/ Owner:

 

Nick Maschas:

Nick Maschas has a Bachelor of Science, in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from West Virginia University. Upon graduation he went to work for Schlumberger as an Open Hole Logging Engineer. After leaving Schlumberger he worked for Halliburton Energy Services for 16 years in a wide variety of positions. Prior to founding LAS, Nick worked as Operational Manager for Manhattan Petroleum and Element Petroleum. He is the founder and manager of Opus Oil and Gas, and Opus II Oil and Gas. He is a member of SPE, AADE, and WTG.

Lee Sanders:

Lee Sanders is a graduate of Texas Tech. He continued post-graduate studies at the University of Houston. Retiring after 34 years with Halliburton, He is a member of the West Texas Geological Society and the Society of Economic Paleontologist and Mineralogist and Mineralogist.  He has authored numerous papers for SPWLA, SPE Southwest AAPG Section and the West Texas Geological Society. During his time at LAS, Lee produced several software models to help interpret and simplify well log data.

Harvin Broughton:

Harvin Broughton holds degrees in Petroleum Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University and Master of Science Geology/Earth Science from University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Harvin spent 25 years working for Schlumberger in a wide variety of roles, he then transitioned to over to EP side and began working NW Shelf for Concho Oil and Gas. Harvin spent 11 years total with Concho before becoming an independent Geologist.

Earl Berkheimer:

BS In Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology
Earl has held a wide variety of domestic and international positions over the last 40 years. Including working for Shell International, Gulf Links and Transeruo Energy Corp. He holds a patent for latch mechanism to separate joints of drill pipes. He also has several papers published on short radius wells.

 

Michael Kennedy:

Michael Kennedy, started his oilfield career with Baker Hughes as a directional driller. During his time with Baker he worked in serval basins drilling Medium to long radius wells and multi lateral horizontals. He has worked both domestically and internationally with positions for Chesepeake, Oxy and Saudi Aramco.

Daniel Poras:
Daniel graduated from USC, MS in Petroleum Engineering. Daniel started in the oil and gas industry as an operator assistant for Halliburton in 1998. Daniel advanced to equipment operator, quality assurance technician, acid supervisor, frac supervisor and eventually engineering. Upon graduation Daniel went to work for Talisman Energy as a Reservoir Engineer in Horseheads, NY. Upon returning to Midland, TX and prior to LAS, he worked for several companies in West Texas in leadership and engineering roles focused on production and operations. In 2009, Daniel received his P.Eng. certification. Daniel is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Registered Professional Landman. Daniel is a veteran of the US Army.

    

    Project Management

 

Shaun Standard:

Shaun Standard is responsible for running all field activities from Drilling, Completions and Production. Responsible for AFE’s  for drilling on 23,000 net acres, multiple zone completions on vertical wells, and construction of batteries, flowlines, water lines and gas lines. Working closely with the CEO, Geologist, and Land Team with the execution of a two-rig drilling program. Overseeing all FRAC designs and execution of the FRAC plan and schedule. Overseeing drill outs and bringing wells on Production. Working closely with AR/AP with accruals, both AFE and LOE.

 

Brad Burkhalter:

Brad Burkhalter 18 plus years of successful oilfield experience, including responsibilities for varying roles such as District Manager, Coordinator, Service Supervisor, Operations Manager, and Safety Manager. Oil & Gas Operation Management, Rig Management, Resource Management, Production Planning & Scheduling, Quality Control Management.
